MT student member Interdisciplinary Social Science

Hi, I’m Marcus Goedel!

As a member of the Faculty Board at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and Board of Studies Graduate School, I’m here to listen, learn, and work together with both the organisation and students to further strengthen our faculty and university. With a background in both technological and organisational sciences, and currently studying for my master’s in Youth Development & Social Change, I aim to develop my ability to bridge the gap between social challenges and organisational practice, and I’m thrilled to be able to put this into action in my role on the board.

I’m particularly fascinated by the transition from youth to adulthood and the challenges that come with it. Therefore, I believe student representation is essential: I want to understand students’ experiences and stand up for what matters to them. My experience as a technician, consultant, board member, former foster child, and ISS student helps me to quickly switch between different perspectives and find solutions that truly resonate.

Do you have ideas about improving your course, student wellbeing, or how we can make the faculty even better? I’m open to everyone’s input and would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to reach out anytime!

In my free time, I play Pokémon, freestyle rap, and walk long distances in preparation for the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage in Spain that I’d love to experience one day.

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and working together to create a faculty where everyone feels at home.
