Student member of the Programme Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) is a group of dedicated master students and professors who collaborate closely to improve the quality of education within their (pre-)master’s programme. As a PAC member, you represent the voice of your fellow students by collecting their opinions and experiences, and bringing these into discussions with professors. In this way, the PAC plays an active role in shaping course evaluations, assessments, and improvements to the programme.
What will you do?
As a member of the PAC, you contribute to strengthening the connection between students and professors. You will actively seek input from your fellow students about their experiences with courses, examinations, and the structure of the programme. This feedback will then be discussed in meetings with professors, where you work together to identify what is going well and where improvements can be made. Beyond evaluations, the PAC also engages in conversations about broader developments that affect students, such as the role of GenAI in education, financial cutbacks, and other pressing issues. On average, the role requires about two hours of your time per week, which you can schedule flexibly alongside your studies.
What do we expect from you?
In this role, we are looking for a student who is socially competent, enthusiastic, and willing to think critically about education. It is important that you can easily connect with other students and that you feel comfortable sharing and collecting ideas. While you bring in your own vision on how education could be improved, you also remain open to the perspectives of your peers. You enjoy working together in a team, are able to plan and organize effectively, and you can communicate your thoughts and advice to professors in a constructive and respectful manner.
What do we offer?
By joining the PAC, you will become part of a motivated and supportive group of both students and professors. You will also have the opportunity to get to know many more lecturers and staff members from your programme. This role offers you valuable insight into how your education and the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences are organized, and allows you to actively influence improvements that benefit not only you but also future students. For your contribution, you will receive a monthly compensation of €60.13.
How to apply
Are you interested in contributing to the quality of education in your programme by becoming a PAC member? Then we would be happy to hear from you. Please send your CV along with a motivation letter to studenteninspraak.fsw@uu.nl. Once we have received your application, we will contact you to arrange a short meeting. This conversation will give us the chance to get to know you better, answer any questions you may have, and explore together whether the role is the right fit for you.
