Student Member Board of Studies Graduate School (BoS UGS/GS)
The Board of Studies Undergraduate School/Graduate School (BoS UGS/GS) is a governing body where all master directors of the faculty meet to discuss important policies. In this board, students also have a voice: there are four student representatives, one from an academic master’s programme, two from bachelor’s programmes, and the student assessor. As a student member, you represent the perspective of master’s students across the faculty and ensure that student interests are taken into account when policies are developed.
What will you do?
As a member of the BoS UGS/GS, you engage in discussions about faculty-wide policies that directly affect your own master’s programme and the broader student community. You will review policy documents and reports with a critical eye, always keeping in mind the student perspective. In this role, you will also communicate insights from the board back to students, ensuring transparency and student engagement. The position requires about two extra hours per week, in addition to your PAC and EC work, with a flexible schedule.
What do we expect from you?
We are looking for a student who is communicative, well-organized, and able to work both collaboratively and independently. You are comfortable reading and preparing policy documents and are always well-prepared for meetings. You can clearly and constructively communicate what you learn in meetings to other students.
What do we offer?
As a member of the BoS UGS/GS, you gain unique insight into the faculty’s policy-making processes and have the opportunity to actively shape them. You will build a broad network within the faculty, and there are opportunities to attend conferences and symposia outside the university. This role also allows you to experience first-hand how a large academic organization functions and to contribute directly to its improvement. For your contribution, you will receive an additional monthly compensation of €60.13.
